Author John Kiste will host this session to discuss gothic literature, a style of writing that combines horror, romance, and a sense of mystery and terror. He will explain his experiences with the publishing process to encourage aspiring writers to explore it for themselves. Bring some writing samples to share if you wish.
John Kiste is a horror writer who was previously the president of the Stark County Convention & Visitors’ Bureau and a board member of the Massillon Museum. He is a double-lung transplantee and organ donation ambassador, a McKinley Museum planetarian and an Edgar Allan Poe impersonator who has been published in Flame Tree Press’s Terrifying Ghosts, Third Flatiron, A Shadow of Autumn, Love Letters to Poe, Dracula Beyond Stoker, Unnerving Press’s Haunted Are These Houses and dozens of other anthologies, magazines, and e-zines. An active member of the Horror Writers Association, and the president of the Tuscarawas County Writers Guild, he recently won the Dark Sire Award for Best Fiction. Find him at johnkiste.wordpress.com.
